How It Works

Step 1: Choose Your Dates

Choose your dates and length of stay. AOA has a selection of dates available to experience your custom trip staying at Zion Lodge. Your trip can be either 2 nights or 3 nights in duration. See the Trip Dates tab for all options

Step 2: Select Your Hikes

Each day, there will be the option for easy, moderate, and difficulty hikes. You can find some examples of these hikes under the Hikes & Activities tab. The beauty of this custom Zion experience is that each hike and activity is suited just to you. Select some extra challenge in the morning then add a light and easy hike to round out the afternoon before dinner. You will not be able to note your preferred hikes during the online booking process. After booking, AOA’s adventure consultants will reach out to you to discuss your desired hikes.

Step 3: Add Some Extra Fun

Zion National Park and the surrounding area is full of beautiful sights to see and fun things to do. We’ve hand picked some of our favorite activities beyond hiking the canyon so you can round out your vacation in just the right way for your group. Take a look at our Upgrades and Optional Activities tab to see some of our staff choices for activities beyond hiking.

Step 4: Make Your Deposit

Select Book Now and put all the pieces in your cart. When you book online, we collect a $500/person deposit. You will have the option to make some selections for upgrades and activities. Don’t worry, you don’t have to do all the work, just point us in the right direction. AOA’s adventure consultants will be in touch to talk through your selections and offer you an official quote for the trip.

Each step of the way, we will ensure every detail of your trip is thoughtfully planned to meet your specific desires and make this trip an unforgettable vacation of a lifetime in Zion.

Step 5: Experience Zion National Park!

This is the part you’ve been waiting for. After booking, our staff will work closely with you to ensure you are ready for an incredible trip to Zion. When you arrive in Utah, the only thing you need to do is relax, enjoy, and experience the magic of the national park.

You can book your private trip to stay at Zion online. During the online booking process, you get to select the base elements of the trip. After booking, we will help fill in the details.

Pa’Rus Trail

This paved 3.5-mile trail casually winds along the banks of the Virgin River, starting at the South Campground, passing the Visitor’s Center, and continuing all the way to Canyon Junction.

Court of the Patriarchs

Deep in the Zion valley, this short paved path gives you beautiful views of the Three Patriarchs, rock formations towering over the trail.

Canyon Overlook Trail

A scenic drive through the amazing Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel to the east side of the park is a must during your stay here! This scenic drive features views of Checkerboard Mesa and an array of other interesting sites. Make sure to stretch your legs on the 1-mile Canyon Overlook Trail, a series of steps and bridges that leads to the very top of the Zion Arch.

Weeping Rock

A short .5 mile, paved trail to a beautiful natural spring where water drips from the crevices of an overhanging rock, creating a garden of maidenhair fern. This is the start to the Observation Point hike as well.

The Narrows

After hiking along the 1.1-mile Riverside walk, a paved and dirt path that follows the Virgin River upstream from the Temple of Sinawava, this trail drops hikers into the chilly waters of the Virgin River where they can continue wading in the creek, moving upstream as far as 1.5 miles. Enjoy hidden swimming holes while marveling at the massive walls stretching above you to form this slot canyon. Shielded from the sun, the water here is cool even throughout the summer. This hike is not recommended for those with depth perception or balance issues.

Emerald Pools

There first mile of this trail is paved and casual, leading to the lower Emerald Pool and waterfall. We can continue another mile along a sandy and rocky trail that climbs to the upper pool at the base of a cliff, returning the same way. Some drop-offs exist on this route.

Watchman Trail

This moderate 3.3-mile trail is an excellent introduction to Zion, making its way through shady trees out onto an overlook where we can see rock formations such as The Watchman and Towers of the Virgin.

Angel’s Landing

The preeminent National Park Trail, this route climbs a steep paved trail for 2 miles before reaching Scout’s Lookout. This is the stopping point for those afraid of heights or drop-offs. The trail continues 0.75 mile out along a sheer fin of rock jutting up hundreds of feet from the valley floor. Hikers must negotiate a narrow trail, punctuated by high steps and some scrambling, and protected by the installment of chains and bars by the National Park Service. The reward is an unmatched and breathtaking 360-degree view of the entire valley.

Observation Point

Starting at Weeping Rock, we follow the East Rim Trail as it climbs steeply up the east cliff of Zion, drop-offs of ever-increasing height around each corner. The trail passes through a narrow canyon teeming with life that is also the entry point for canyoneers. Eventually, after 4 miles of climbing and switchbacks, we reach the highest point in the park, Observation Point, towering over even Angel’s Landing far below.
