Working our way to three of the most beautiful islands in the Gulf Island archipelago, we start with the charms of Western Canada's oldest city, stately Victoria. After cycling up Vancouver Island's Saanich Peninsula, ferries deliver us to Mayne, Galiano and Salt Spring islands for great bicycling along coastal roads and possible sightings of eagles, sea lions and whales. We'll follow the ancient footsteps of the Coastal Salish Indians and bask in the serenity of islanders who protect the old-growth beauty.
