Guided Day Tour FAQ's
What should Clothes I wear?
For all tours, comfortable athletic clothing works best. Depending on the season, most guests are comfortable wearing shorts and a t-shirt. On colder mornings, you may want to bring a long sleeve shirt or light jacket. Bringing along sunglasses is always a good idea.
For Biking, guests who are used to wearing biking specific shorts are encouraged to wear them. All other safety equipment and gear is provided.
For Kayaking or Rafting, most guests are comfortable wearing a swimming suit, shorts and a t-shirt. Guests must not be afraid to get wet.
What Shoes should I wear?
For Hiking, athletic shoes with a good rubber sole work best on all the hikes that we provide. Hiking shoes are recommended for our longest hikes.
For Biking, if a guest has riding specific shoes that require special pedals, let us know and we can most likely accommodate them with the proper pedals.
For Kayaking or Rafting, we require secure footwear that will stay put while in water (sandals with straps, water shoes or tennis shoes).
What else do I need to bring?
Sunscreen and a camera are always a good idea to bring along. Your guides are happy to carry these items as well as any other personal items you would like to bring with you. AOA will provide dry bags so guests may bring some of their belongings on the river.
Helmets are mandatory on all bike tours.
Life jackets and secure footwear (sandals with straps, water shoes or tennis shoes) are mandatory on all kayak and raft tours.
